I am an undergraduate student majoring in history at the University of Oklahoma. Therefore, I read and write a lot. I am taking the Colloquium class this semester, and my research is over how the survivors of the atomic bombs dropped on Hiroshima and Nagasaki were impacted psychologically, as well as how the collective memory of the Japanese, especially the survivors, has evolved over time as it pertains to the atomic bombs. I hope the posts on this page give a look into what (or who) often gets lost in the traditional narrative told about the atomic bombs, which is the survivors and their stories.
